Ms. Juliana Stavola

Faculty

Juliana Stavola is a Dancer and Communication Studies graduate from Western Michigan University. Originally from Michigan, she has been dancing since the age of five and is passionate about using dance not only as a form of artistic expression but also as a tool for leadership, community engagement, and mentorship. Recently, she relocated to Los Angeles and is eager to immerse herself in the city’s vibrant dance scene while continuing to grow as both an artist and leader.

During her time at WMU, Juliana was a dedicated member of the university’s touring ensemble, Western Dance Project, under the direction of Kelsey Paschich. With the ensemble, she performed at notable events including the Detroit Dance City Festival, Kalamazoo Art Hop, and WMU’s Winter Gala.

In 2022, Juliana co-founded 269 Crew, a student-led hip hop organization that quickly grew to over 60 members. As director, she led choreography, organized performances, facilitated community outreach, and managed fundraising initiatives. She also served as a Dance Ambassador for WMU’s Department of Dance, supporting recruitment and guiding prospective students through the program.

That same summer, she served as the Marketing Intern for the Detroit Dance City Festival, where she combined her communication background with her dance expertise to support artists from across the country. She also completed an Arts Administration Internship with Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers, gaining experience in company operations, community outreach, and academy programming, while earning certification from the Dancer’s Equity Education Association.

Since graduating, Juliana has continued shaping Michigan’s dance community as an instructor and choreographer for youth, and performed with Release Hip Hop Crew in Detroit under the direction of Release Dance Studio. She now looks forward to contributing her unique blend of performance, leadership, and arts administration experience to the Los Angeles dance community.
