Sarah Jayne Crookston-Henriod was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She began her dance training at the age of seven, studying intensively in ballet and jazz at Salt Lake Dance Center in Salt Lake City, which she continued to do until her graduation from high school. While in middle school Sarah danced with Ballet West, Utah’s Premier Dance Company, performing in The Nutcracker. In High School, Sarah performed with her dance studio and competed on a nationally ranked competition team. While in high school Sarah discovered another aspect of her dancing when she began to choreograph for her high school dance company. Following her passion for the art of dance she was accepted into the University of Utah’s nationally ranked Modern Dance Department. Sarah continued her dance training and artistic exploration by taking various dance classes around Salt Lake City. A few years after college Sarah moved to Rochester, Minnesota where she taught dance at Janet Lang Dance Studio and Tippi Toes. Sarah focused her teaching on lyrical and ballet, while working with children of all ages. Sarah has also taught dance in Washington, DC and Dallas, Texas.  Currently Sarah is a dance instructor at Revolution Dance Center, RDC, in Montrose, California teaching ballet and tap. She loves working with children and adults to help them find movement and joy. During the spring and summer of 2016 Sarah was the co-choreographer for Alice in Wonderland the musical. Over 80 youth participated in this production. Dance is a part of Sarah and she loves every aspect of dance. Sarah truly believes that through dance you have the opportunity and possibility to express all emotions. Dance is one of Sarah’s greatest joys. She loves to teach others how to dance.
