PART 6: Recital Photography and Videos

Recital Photos – Picture Week – Tues June 3rd to Mon. June 9th

Class photos on will be taken during Picture Week in your dancer’s regular scheduled class time. Picture Week dates will be posted on the website no later than March 15 th. All students are required to be present for their class picture. There are no exceptions. After the group photo shoot, students may choose to have solo portraits taken in their costume. There is no obligation to purchase group photos. Order forms and pricing will be available at your photo session, so don't forget your checkbook.

Please arrive before your child’s scheduled time in full costume, hair and makeup to ensure that the photo shoot runs smoothly.

Photo Shoot Hair and Makeup

Consider it the same as a performance. All students will wear the same color make-up for all classes unless they are on JK’s Dance Company.

Required Make-Up:
Foundation: Your choice, the best color that matches your child’s complexion
Blush: Maybelline Powder Blush (either #20 or #60)
Mascara: L’oreal Voluminous (Black)
Eyeliner: any kind in black
– suggested L’oreal Pencil (ebony)
Lipstick: NYC - #305B Ruby

Make-Up can be found at Target, CVS, Longs Drugs and probably other drugstores.

Minis, Tots and Kinders should only wear Foundation or Powder, Blush, Lipstick and small amount of mascara.

If a student is allergic to make-up, we recommend hypoallergenic make-up usually obtainable at all convenience stores and drug stores. Try to match as close to the designated color as possible.

A hairstyle for each class will be designated by the teacher and posted on the RDC website on the Recital page. (If a student’s hair is too short for that style, the teacher will allow and adjust their hairstyle during Costume Week).

Photo and Video Purchase

Photos will be available for viewing and purchase within a couple of weeks of Picture Week. Pricing information will be distributed at the photo shoot. As soon as we have additional information on the photographer and Picture Week dates, we’ll post it on the website.

The recital will be professionally videotaped. No personal video cameras are allowed in the auditorium. The estimated cost of a DVD is $35. Forms will be available at ticket sales, the dress rehearsal and the recital for those who would like to purchase DVDs or videos.
