Performances

RDC offers a number of performance opportunties for its students each year.

ANNUAL RECITAL (June)
Each June, RDC holds a group of recitals that showcase each of RDC's classes during that School Year.  Each class (with the exception of Pointe and Turns & Leaps) learns a routine during their class time and is given the opportunity to perform in the June show.  The recital is performed in a theater, on a stage with professional lighting and music and each routine has a costume that the dancer keeps and a special photo package.  Each show is professional videotaped.  Participation in the annual recital is voluntary but about 96% of RDC students choose to perform.  For more information about RDC's Annual Recital - Click here.

HOLIDAY SHOW (December)
An annual tradition is RDC's Holiday Show.  Each fall, RDC offers a separate performance opportunity for dancers outside of their regular classes.  The RDC Holiday Show is an 9 week production - 8 weeks of Saturday rehearsals beginning in October, culminating in two performances on a Saturday in December.  This is a separate commitment from regular dance classes and separate fees apply.  For more information about RDC's Holiday Show - Click here.

JKDC (RDC's Competition Team)
For over 10 years, Julie Kay and RDC's talented staff have trained a select group of 50 to 80 dancers to perform at community events and compete in regional and national dance competitions.  JKDC members range in age from 5 to 18.  These dancers have committed themselves to multiple hours of dance class and rehearsal each week as well as weekends during competition season.  Membership in JKDC is by audition only (through RDC's Summer Dance Mania dance intensives).  For more information about JKDC - Click here.

COMMUNITY PERFORMANCES (Various times)
To give back to our community and share RDC's passion for dance, many of RDC's dancers perform at community events during the year.  Some RDC classes, dancers in RDC's Holiday Show and JKDC members, have performed at the following events in the 2010/2011 year - Hometown Country Fair, Disabled Adults Holiday Party at St. Bede's Church, Medieval Fair at Paradise Canyon Elementary School, Dunsmore Elementary School Fair, Girl Scouts Gold Award events and Oktoberfest.   If you would like any of RDC's dancers to perform at your community event, please contact Julie Kay or Melissa at (818) 249-1100.
