Fees

A. Fees & Costs

Registration Fees: Each student will be charged a non-refundable annual registration fee payable in September, or upon registration. Discounts may be given for multiple students from a single family. The annual registration fee is due upon initial registration along with the first month’s tuition. If a dancer drops out of classes for more than 30 days, they are inactive and must officially re-register and may be required to pay a new registration fee. Class participation rates will be higher if the registration fee is not paid. Registration Fees for the 2007/2008 class year are $25.00 per student or $45.00 per family.

Tuition: Fees for class participation may be paid by month or by class. Per class fees are higher for non-registered students. Monthly Tuition charges are based on the number of weeks in each annual session (September through June). For the 2007/2008 session, there are 38 weeks. For the 2007/2008 session, monthly tuition charges will be based on a 4 week month from September through May (including December) and a 2 week month in June. Tuition rates for the 2007/2008 session are included in the Appendix to this handbook.

Because of the different school calendars, RDC does not close for a spring break and no credits will be given for school vacations or holidays. Monthly tuition rates are not affected by holidays or school vacations ; however, when the studio is closed for the Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and the Memorial Day Weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Monday), student accounts will be credited for classes missed on those days. In addition, if a teacher is unavailable and a suitable substitute cannot be found, an individual class may be cancelled and the registered students in that class will be notified and their accounts credited for that class.

Tuition payments are due on the first day of each month or at the beginning of class, if you are paying on a per class basis. If you choose to pay for four or more months in advance, Discounted Monthly Tuition Fees (see fee schedule) will apply. If a dancer misses class for any reason, including a school vacation or holiday, RDC’s Make-Up Policy applies but no credits will be given for classes that are not “made up”. If a dancer is on an Unlimited monthly tuition, NO CREDITS OR REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR MISSED WEEKS OR CLASSES. You may choose to convert from a monthly tuition payment to a per class fee payment at the beginning of any calendar month only. Requests to convert to a per-class fee program during any month will be started with the next calendar month and no refunds will be provided for the current month.

Tuition bills will not be mailed to students homes. Tuition accounts can be paid by cash, check or credit card during regular RDC office hours. Credit card charges are generally a minimum of $25.00. A $10.00 late fee will be levied on any balance not paid by the 15th of each month and there will be a charge for any returned checks.

RDC reserves the right to have dancers sit out of classes, without make ups, if their account has outstanding balances for tuition, store charges, costume fees, recital or registration fees or late fees, until such account is paid in full.

Auto Debit : Dancer’s monthly tuition can be automatically debited from a credit card at the request of an adult. Authorization forms are available at the Front Desk and will apply to each session (for example: Summer 2007 or 2007/2008 year). Monthly tuition will be debited between the 1st and the 10th of each month for that calendar month. If you choose to use Auto Debit, Discounted Monthly Tuition fees will apply. If auto debits are rejected for any reason, fee discounts may be withdrawn at the discretion of management.

Charge Accounts: Dancers over the age of 10 are allowed to “charge” drinks and snacks on their parent’s RDC account unless the parent denies the privilege. If you do not want your dancer to be able to charge drinks or snacks, please let the front desk know. Parents are responsible for all charges on their accounts. In some instances, adults may be allowed to “charge” RDC store items to their accounts for later payment. This privilege may be revoked or withheld at anytime at the discretion of management.

Recital Fees : Recital Performance Fees and costume charges, if the student is participating, will be due by a particular deadline. The deadline will be posted IN ADVANCE at the Front Desk, in the monthly newsletter and on the Website. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to keep informed on these and other due dates.

Holiday Show Fees : There is a separate fee for participating in RDC’s holiday show. That fee generally includes all rehearsals and costumes for the show. Dancers will be able to keep most of their costumes from the holiday show. Participation fees for RDC’s holiday show will be due by a particular deadline which will be posted in advance.

RDC’s Summer Theater: RDC’s Summer Theater is a performing arts camp during the summer months. There is a separate fee for participating in RDC’s Summer Theater program. Participation fees for RDC’s Summer Theater will be due by a particular deadline which will be posted in advance. Limited work-study credit is available at the discretion of the directors.

Other Fee Policies : All fees (tuition, Registration Fees, Recital Performance Fees, Costume Fees, Recital Performance Ticket Fees) are non-refundable. All outstanding balances must be paid in full before costumes or Recital Performance Tickets are released. All outstanding balances must be paid in full before any student is permitted to perform in the Recital.

General Policies

Attendance Policies : Absences must be reported to the Front Desk prior to the beginning of class. RDC reserves the right to have dancers arriving 10 minutes or more late to class or who do not dress in appropriate dance attire, sit out the remainder of class and just observe. Warm up is critical in preventing injury and to enhance the productivity of the class. A minimum attendance level will be required. Dancers missing more than 5 classes or 3 consecutive classes after March may not be allowed to participate in the year-end Recital and there will be no refunds of costume or recital fees.

Make Up Policy . Any missed classes may be made up by attending a class of same level or lower or same age range within the same calendar month. If the dancer miss classes in the last week of a calendar month, the dancer may make up the class before the 15 th of the following calendar month. No credits or refunds are given for missed classes. It is the dancers' responsibility to track missed classes (including dates missed). The front desk will verify the missed class prior to granting a makeup. If you are making up a class, you must go to the front desk and get a make-up slip to give the teacher. There are no makeups for classes missed because of holidays, for Unlimited dancers, or for classes missed in any other calendar month.

Classes are subject to cancellation or rescheduling at RDC’s discretion.

Photo Release/Policy -- From time to time, photos will be taken of dancers during class, community performances, rehearsals, holiday show performances, recital, picture week, RDC Summer Theater or Summer Ballet Intensive. Those photos may be used for promotional materials, advertisements, newsletters, websites and publications promoting or advertising RDC or it programs. Payment of the Registration Fee is your permission for RDC to use photos of your child for these purposes without any right to compensation of ownership.

Other General Policies : It is the responsibility of the parent/dancer to be aware of all studio activities, such as recitals, rehearsals, and dates the studio is open or closed. The studio will post all such notices on the website and/or within the monthly newsletter. It is the parents/dancers responsibility to regularly check all of these sources to ensure they are informed. It is also the responsibility of the parents/dancers to inform the studio of any dancer contact information or billing changes. RDC is not responsible for student property. Any student destroying or damaging RDC’s property or the property of another student or family will be promptly dismissed. Students are not permitted to smoke or chew gum on RDC property. A student may be dismissed from any class on the basis of their behavior and/or the actions of their parents at RDC’s discretion. RDC requests that each student enrolled consult with a physician before participating in any class, with respect to any past or present illness or injury that may affect his/her participation in, and ability to, endure the exercise, dance, or acrobatic program. Non-compliance with the policies of RDC may result in the dismissal of a student and/or family.
